Teach Your Child to Read and Help Your Child Become a Fast and Fluent Reader

Dear Parents,

If you believe that teaching your child to read and helping your child develop proficient reading skills is the key to future success, and if you wish to help your children develop to their fullest potential... then your must read this message carefully.

Here's why: I'm Jim, a reading teacher and father of 4 amazing kids. Forget about everything you've read and heard about how and when your child should learn to read - most of the information out there is irrelevant, some are downright detrimental, and you may even be shocked to hear that starting off by learning sight words could actually lead to reading problems and difficulties! So before you run off and decide to teach your child using sight words or any other approach, PLEASE watch our video above in full where I explain why you should NOT start teaching with sight words, and show you the combination of two simple, scientifically proven methods, that will enable you to teach your child to read, and help your child become a fast and fluent reader.

Here, let me show you what sort of incredible accomplishments can be made possible using our teaching methods.

Watch the Amazing Reading Progress of These Children

The little girl you saw in the first video above is our daughter, Raine. We began teaching her how to read when she was 2 years and 8 months old. The second video shows the reading progress of our second child, Ethan. We began teaching him to read at 2 years and 6 months old. You can see the fantastic reading skills development after just 12 weeks of lessons, but even more remarkable, is the incredible reading level achieved long after completing the Children Learning Reading program.

I can tell you right now, that I've taught children of ALL AGES to read, many as young as 2 and 3 years old, others are older elementary school students, and they've all progressed on to achieve similarly incredible results! Not only that, countless parents JUST LIKE YOU have used my teaching methods to teach their children to read, and they've sent me videos to show the amazing results! Just take a look at the countless success stories sent to us by ecstatic parents:

Real parents, real children, real results.

"Now at 2 years and 4 months, he can read an entire book by himself! He is reading at a 2nd grade level! At our church school, his teacher was amazed."

Hi Jim,

Using your lessons, I started teaching my son to read at 14 months. At the beginning, I thought he might be a bit young but I gave it a shot and followed your guide. I taught him slowly until he's solid with each lesson before moving onto the next. By the time he was 18 months, we completed stage one. Now at 2 years and 4 months, he can read an entire book by himself! Curious of his reading level, I did a reading assessment on him and he is reading at a 2nd grade level!

My husband is so proud he's been telling everyone about our son's reading skills. And his love for books and reading brings so much joy to our family. We used to read to him before bedtime, but now he picks out his own books and reads to us.

Throughout the day, when there's no noise to be heard, we know he's having quiet time with his books. And when we go for walks, he's always curious and runs up to signs and begin reading; "stop", "no parking", "enter" and so forth. The best is when we took him to the golf course, he went up to a sign and read "no chipping" and the man near him was shocked. Friends of ours were amazed to see him read so well too. And his grandmother was in tears when he read to her.

Since he started baby school at our church, the compliments are nonstop. His teacher asks us if we've been teaching him to read. We told her he started at 14 months and now he's reading at a 2nd grade level. She was amazed and told us he was reading the bible verse on the coloring sheets.

Thanks,

Below is a 3 minute video of little Jacob reading a book by himself at 2 years 4 months old:

Follow Up Video - About 1.5 Years Later

Below is a short video showing Jacob reading at 3 years 10 months old. His mom had sent me 2 videos showing little Jacob reading. The full video of him reading "How to Help the Earth - by the LORAX" was about 13 minutes long, but I've had to shorten it to about 1.5 minutes.

Jacob's mom also sent a photo of his preschool teacher's comments.

"I completed your program and his reading teacher said that his reading abilities exploded and he is on grade level!"

Thank you for a great program and method of learning to read better. My son was picked up for reading support services in first grade. I completed your program and his reading teacher said that his reading abilities exploded and he is on grade level! I wish the teacher had used this program in school. I am now starting with my pre-schooler so that he is on track for kindergarten!

Thanks,

Christine M.

"Jim's program takes the mystery out of teaching children how to read. It is so well organized that any child can learn to read with it."

My children loved the program and so did I. I am extremely pleased with the results. My children started the program at 2 years 11 months and 5 years 4 months with Jim, and neither child was reading before the program. My children loved the program, and Jim is an excellent teacher. After 4 months, my 3 year old is reading at a grade 1 level, and my 5 year old is at a grade 2 - 3 level. I never expected such amazing results.

Jim's program takes the mystery out of teaching children how to read. It is so well organized that any child can learn to read with it. The outcome exceeded my expectations. At the start of the program, I thought my 3 year old might learn some letters and my 5 year old would learn some words, but after completing the program in 4 months, my 3 year old could read long sentences and simple short stories, and my 5 year old could read level 2 books on her own.

Thanks,

Parminder S.

Below is a video showing Parminder's 5 year old daughter reading:

Please note:

Puneet and Amrit are 2 students that I taught over the summer months. They had completed both Stages 1 and 2 of my reading program over a 4 months period. I work with many children between ages 3 to 7, teaching them to read. I get many children between K to G2 where they are far behind in their reading levels, and the parents are very concerned. In all cases, after completing my program (3 - 4 months), the children are reading at or above their levels. The wonderful thing is that the reading skills growth continues long after the initial teaching period, where the children go on to far exceed their respective levels.

Follow Up Videos - 5 months later

About 5 months later, their mom sent me an email update along with 2 videos showing both Puneet and Amrit's amazing reading progress since completing my reading program. Here's what she had to say, along with the videos below:

Hi Jim,

I have attached 2 videos of Puneet and Amrit reading. I think you will be amazed at how great they are doing. You were right, it took 3 months after the program finished and everything seemed to come together for them. In those months they reviewed your book a lot and read every day and then they were off. I am truly amazed with your program, learning to read has been effortless.

Puneet is 6 years and 1 month and reads all the time on her own and does a lot of spelling. The other day she drew a picture and wrote "poppy garden". I asked her how she knew that poppy had 2 'Ps' and she said she saw it somewhere and remembered it. I find she catches on quickly to everything. She started journal writing using simple sentences. She started the early chapter books like Katie Woo and Mercy Watson and she reads non fiction.

I am truly amazed with Amrit. She is 3 years and 9 months and after 3 months she went on her own. She reads all the time, anytime I see her she is reading. She will read cereal boxes, newspapers, letters, anything that has words she will try and figure out what it is. I find she wants to read the same books as Puneet (that's how she got into Robert Munsch-she's read several of his books). She is also a big time speller. She is always spelling. She reads so much that when spelling words she can figure out when a word has an 'er' or 'ir" in it. She can also spell words and figure out when it ends with a silent 'e' or 'y'.

I just want to thank you so much for teaching them how to read last summer. It has changed their lives. Your program is the best out there.

All the best,

Parminder

Below are the videos Parminder sent to me. The original videos are around 10 minutes long each, showing both Puneet and Amrit reading the complete book. I had to shorten the videos showing just a small portion of it.

Have you ever seen a 3 year old read so well? I have, because I teach many young children to read. My reading program is not a miracle quick fix, but it is a logical and sequential order of learning based on tried and tested teaching techniques that makes it incredibly effective at teaching anyone at any age to read phonetically.

"I couldn't stop her! It's amazing to see her read and be so confident about it too! I was completely blown away. After a week from starting your program, she can actually spell 3-letter words on her own and not from memory!"

Hi Jim!

I just want to share with you my daughter's progress after just starting your program 2 weeks ago. She has gotten so well at segmenting and blending words. She occasionally makes mistakes but overall, she's doing excellent! I know you recommend at least 3 days to work on a lesson but since she knows her letters and letter sounds, she just went through the lessons quickly. I couldn't stop her! It's amazing to see her read and be so confident about it too! She can even now spell some 3 letter words (man, cap, dog) and write them down (she has very good fine motor skills and loves to write and draw). I'm so proud of her.

She's 4 years and 5 months.

Maybe it helped that I somehow started blending before she turned 4. She did some blending when I introduced some word families to her. She did well on that but I wasn't really sure how to get her going with reading until I stumbled upon your program. I mean, I wasn't even looking for a reading program but when I visited your site and spent about 30 minutes to an hour reading it, I thought to myself "wow, this is an amazing reading program and this is what I need to help my daughter learn to read." I'm so glad I clicked on this guy's blog who happened to talk about your program. Two weeks later, here I am, emailing you how well my daughter is progressing in learning to read. It's really amazing!

Another progress she has made since she started your program is learning to spell. My daughter loves to draw and write and she occasionally writes the words "I, love, you, Mommy, and Daddy" when she's drawing our family. She can spell these words because she has memorized them. Then this past weekend, I tried to ask her to spell certain words such as dog, cup, hot. I instructed her to sound them out and then write the letters for each sound. Well, she was able to do it! I was completely blown away. After a week from starting your program, she can actually spell 3-letter words on her own and not from memory! Then a couple of days ago, she drew a car and then asked me how to spell stop so she could draw a stop sign. So I told her to do the same thing, sound it out and then write the letters. And yes, my daughter spelled the word "stop" right. :)

Again, thank you Jim for your brilliant reading program!

Farah G.

Here's the short video Farah sent us of her 4 year old daughter reading (Short Story from Lesson #20 in Stage 1 of our program) after just 2 weeks of lesson with our learning methods:

Please Note:

The results you see in the above video with Kaira, at the amazing speed which she progressed using our reading program, is NOT typical of all children. Based on my experience of having taught many children to read combined with thousands of feedbacks I've received from parents, a more reasonable time frame (depending on age of child) to reach a similar level of progress would be about 6 to 10 weeks and not just 2 weeks as Kaira was able to achieve. A big pat on the back for her mom for being such a great teacher!

Video Update from Farah on Kaira's Reading Progress

About 6 weeks after the initial email and video, Farah sent us a new video of her daughter reading after just 8 weeks of lessons with our reading program. Here's what she had to say, with the new video below:

Hi Jim,

Just sharing my daughter's progress in reading. She's beginning to read Step 2 books now. We're still not done on stage 2 and we also make sure to review past lessons. She is getting so much better at reading. She always tries to read the books she sees around the house. I'm so happy with her progress!

Thanks,
Farah

Progress Update - 1 year later

About 1 year later, Farah sent me an update on her daughter's amzing progress - not with just reading, but writing and spelling at just 5 years old. See below:

Hi Jim! It's been a year since we started your program (August 30) and my daughter's reading skills continue to develop. She now reads beginning chapter books (Katie Woo, Mercy Watson) and is a splendid speller. She writes sentences and some short stories too. She started Kindergarten 2 weeks ago and she is currently 5 years and 4 months old. I have never thought that after a year from starting your program, she would be where she is now. We are so proud of her! Attached are some of her work.

Thank you so much again, Jim!

Farah

5 year old can spell and write

"Wow, She is Reading!!!"

Hi Jim,

We just finished lesson 9 in stage 2. She is doing fantastic. She loves reading her barbie books. I have a video I want to send you so you can see how she is doing.

Your program is so systematic and simple, yet amazingly effective. I also like that the lessons are short covering a new letter sound as well as reviewing previous lessons.

How cleverly made!!! We are currently on lesson 9 in stage 2 but when we hit lesson 3 in the stage 2, we had to move and couldn't do lessons at all for 2 weeks. By then, she was able to read simple books and even harder books with assistance, so, I bought her a ton of princess and barbie books for early readers and they kept her interested in practicing reading at her own pace. We couldn't have done this without your program for sure.

Thank you so much, Jim!

Noriko I.

Below is the short video of Noriko's 3.8 year old daughter reading, at about half way through stage 2 of our reading program:

Progress Update - 2.5 months later

About 2.5 months later, I received another email from Noriko and 2 video clips showing her daughter reading, and WOW is she reading! Here's what she had to say:

Hi Jim,

Just wanted to let you know that she is doing very well, way beyond our expectations. Back in April, I never dreamed that she would be reading at the level she is now! She actually reads 10-20 Easy Reader type of  books on her own. Yeah, I am very lucky. :).

I just re invited to the dropbox folder sharing where you can find two videos.

Happy reading!

Noriko I.

"Before we started she only knew the letter alphabet not the sounds. After 3 weeks she started reading already and we're very happy about it."

Hi Jim,

We just want to update you of the progress of our Daughter's reading skills , She was 3 years and 9 months when we bought your lesson and teach her how to read , its been 12 weeks now and we finished the stage one last week. Ive attached her video reading a book to share with you how good she is now in reading. Before we started she only knew the letter alphabet not the sounds. After 3 weeks she started reading already and we're very happy about it. She always loves book and now she loves it more. Again thank you for your effort in making this program. It's very helpful.

Vanie N.

Below is the short video of Vanie's 3 year 9 months old daughter reading after completing just the stage 1 of our reading program:

"She was scared of reading at the start - afraid of being wrong. Yet after 2 months, she has started beginner novels and reads on her own!"

Hi Jim,

We are very impressed with the results! The program is excellent for any age level. My daughter is in grade 2, and it was brought to my attention by her teacher that her reading level was below grade level. After 2 months, my child is now reading at grade level and expected to excel beyond. The program is well established and Jim is great with children, always willing to help.

My daughter looked forward to her lessons. She was scared of reading at the start - afraid of being wrong. Yet after 2 months, she has started beginner novels and reads on her own! She enjoys sounding out tough words which boosts her self-esteem, and it's nice to see her (age 7) teaching her younger brother (age 4) how to read. Her teacher at school also noticed the amazing improvement.

The program is excellent and would highly recommend it to parents who have children in the same situation as we did.

M. G.

Below is a short video of M. G.'s 7 year 6 months old daughter (R. G.) reading after completing our reading program in 8 weeks:

Please note:

R. G. is a grade 2 student I taught. She had great reading difficulties when she first came to attend my classes, and contributing to her reading problems was the fact that R. G. had learned to pronounce most of the phonics sounds incorrectly - something I see in probably 9 out 10 students I teach. When you learn the wrong sounds, you're going to have reading problems.

No matter the age of the child (or even adult), we always start with the basic foundation building with our reading program, and after just 3 weeks of lessons, her mom commented that her teacher noted on the mid term report card of the amazing improvement in her daughter's reading skills.

I work with children of all ages, and many are older 7 and 8 year olds who are far behind in their reading skills. With older students, the progress is faster, and most of my older students are able to complete both stages of my reading program in 8 to 12 weeks. By the time they complete my program, most students will advance 1 to 2 grade levels, and will be reading at their respective grade levels. With additional time and reading practice, they go on to excel well beyond their grade levels eventually.

If you have a child behind in reading or having reading difficulties, give our program a try. You'll see fantastic results.

"After a month, Portia started reading. Her teachers teach reading a little different, but when I showed her teachers what she was doing, one cried."

Hi Jim!

I am so happy with your product, it is amazing! Well worth the investment, because after a month, Portia started reading. The 1st  3 weeks were rough, but it just clicked one day, and its been smooth sailing since. I'm not going to lie, I did take a slight detour, and started adding my own words as a test, and it was successful. Portia read her 1st  2 small Leap Frog books on her own the day before Mother's day, and has read a total of 6 or so now. I owe that to your program, thank you so much! Her teachers teach reading a little different, but when I showed her teachers what she was doing, one cried. :)

So, again, about 1 1/2 weeks ago, making a word plural (adding "s") just clicked, so she is now reading the cards with multiple small words on them. I don't remember the lesson #, sorry.

Portia turned 4 at the end of Feb., and we started the program close to the end of March. Truth be told, I have not been good at doing it multiple times a day like you suggest, and I still have amazing results. We probably do this one time a day, usually at night, and even miss a day here or there.

Yes, Jim, you may post this video, and I will be happy to send more. I want to make a video of her reading her books too. It's so exciting to see all of this happening. You gave us the tools to teach phonics, which in turn taught Portia how to read, not memorize (which My Baby Can Read did NOT)!  I invested in that program when she was a baby, the only thing she got out of it was naps and hearing nursery rhymes and songs. HUGE waste of money!

Again, Jim, thank you so much for making such a wonderful product, and helping me teach my daughter to read; I just wish I saw this sooner!

Sincerely,

Jez :)

Below is the short video of Portia reading after just 4 weeks of lessons with the Children Learning Reading program:

"He went from an 81 to an 87 in Language Arts."

Hello Jim!!

We are progressing well. My son, who is 6, was very hesitant at first with doing the program, but he's jumped on board quit nicely. My son has a speech impediment, and reading is not something he enjoys.

I do a lesson every Monday evening and we work on that lesson through out the week. He brought home his report card this Friday and we were so excited that he went from an 81 to an 87 in Language Arts. Let's just say that Language Arts is not his favorite subject, but he has managed to bring his grade up to a very high "B". Of course we would be proud of him regardless, but its nice to be able to have proof to show him that practicing his reading has rewards.

Thank you for offering a program that's easy to follow, enjoyable to the child, and rewarding to the whole family!!!

Shari H.

"After Kindergarten my son could not read at all! His teacher said he would never be able to keep up or catch up in 1st grade & wanted to hold him back... then we found your program... When he started 1st grade, he is reading and the teacher is ABSOLUTELY AMAZED and RAVES about his progress. You are a lifesaver!"

Hi Jim, Your program is amazing! I ordered it last summer because after Kindergarten my son could not read at all! His teacher said he would never be able to keep up or catch up in 1st grade & wanted to hold him back because he couldn't read. Well needles to say, we said no & vowed to teach him ourselves..... then we found your program. We had only completed Stage 2 lesson 3 when he started 1st grade, but he is reading and the teacher is ABSOLUTELY AMAZED and RAVES about his progress. My only regret is that I did not know about your program when he was smaller. It is easy to understand, easy to use, and in such a small amount of time he was reading words and craving more! He is even writing words on his own by sounding them out. He reads reads reads!!!! You are a lifesaver! My family can't say enough good things about your program.

Thanks Again,

G. C.

In a second email about one year later...

Hi Jim,

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!......for your amazing program. My son has shot above reading level for his class thanks to your program. At the beginning of 2nd Grade last year he tested above the score they shoot for at the end of 2nd Grade and continued to soar in his scores throughout the year!!

What Makes This Breakthrough Learn to Read System So Powerful is That it Allows You To...

Teach Your Child to Read Through a Unique Combination of Synthetic Phonics and Phonemic Awareness Skills Development. It is a fact - helping children develop phonemic awareness skills is the most essential step in acquiring reading skills.[1] The spoken English language is made up of words and sentences, and these words are made up of individual sounds or phonemes. Children learn to say and recognize these individual sounds through a process called developing phonemic awareness. According to the National Reading Panel, phonemic awareness improves children's word reading and reading comprehension, and it also helps children learn to spell. Research has indicated that phonemic awareness has a direct correlation with students' ability to read as they get older, and it helps to build a foundation for children to understand the rules of the English language.

Teach Your Child to Read Through Short, Engaging, and Ultra Effective Lessons. We all know it - children have a short attention span, and get distracted easily. Our program is so effective because it takes advantage of a young child's curiosity and desire to learn new things. To accomplish this, the lessons taught in our program are short, but super effective. Many lessons take just 3 to 5 minutes to complete! You will NOT be putting your child in front of the television for hours on end with our system. No way! In fact, we do not recommend small children watch television to learn how to read - our children and YOUR children deserve better.

Teach Your Child to Read Without Television and Without Computer Programs. Can you really expect your child learn to read by watching some random words flash on a TV screen? Sure, they might learn to memorize some word shapes, but does the child really acquire the ability to decode and read effectively? Of course not...

Do not think for one minute, that spending hundreds of dollars on ineffective DVD, TV, and Computer programs will teach your child to read or replace the loving care and attention of an attentive parent. You are the parent and teacher during the most important developmental years of your child's life. For that, you will be rewarded with the greatest experience, and your child will be rewarded with developing the most important skills in life - reading and literacy skills.

Reading Makes Your Child Smarter,
and Your Child Misses a GOLDEN Opportunity,
If You Do Not Teach Your Child to Read Now

The first several years of your child's life are the most important for healthy brain development and growth. Critical aspects of a child's brain are established well before they enter school, and it is the experiences during these sensitive periods of development that play a critical role in shaping the capacities of the brain. [i] Please see the graph below, which charts the synapse formation in a child's brain at different ages.

As you can see, synapse formation for higher cognitive function peaks around 2 to 3 years of age. There is a direct link between a child's academic performance and future success with positive early experiences and developing early reading skills.

Reading makes your child SMARTER, and the very act of reading can help children compensate for modest levels of cognitive ability! [v - Cunningham, Stanovich]

Your child's vocabulary at age 3 predicts his or her first grade reading success [ii], and...

Vocabulary and reading ability in first grade strongly predicts grade 11 outcomes [iii], and...

Third grade reading skills directly influences high school graduation. Children who cannot read proficiently by grade 3 are four times more likely to leave school without a diploma than proficient readers! [iv]

And if you think... "why do I need to teach my child to read when they'll learn to read at school, and what are the chances that my child will be a poor reader?" Then you need to THINK AGAIN! Because...

67% of all Grade 4 students cannot read at a proficient level! According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, of those 67%, 33% read at just the BASIC level, and 34% CANNOT even achieve reading abilities of the lowest basic level! The NAEP is the only ongoing survey of what students know and tracks their performance in various academic subjects for the United States. [2]

The U.K. government's Department of Education reported that 42% of children left school without achieving a basic level of functional English - Over 100,000 students leave schools functionally illiterate in the UK each year! [4]

The Australian Government Department of Education reported that 33% of all year 5 students CANNOT meet the benchmark literacy skills, and in Canada, 42% of Canadians are considered semi-illiterate! [6 ,7] Unfortunately, non of these above shocking literacy statistics should be surprising because...

"Many in-service teachers are not knowledgeable in the basic concepts of the English language. They do not know how to address the basic building blocks of language and reading." - This is NOT a statement that we are making, rather, this is a finding from a study done at the Texas A&M University. Their study was aptly titled "Why elementary teachers might be inadequately prepared to teach reading." [5]

The above statistics and findings are not something we pulled out of thin air. They are reported by government agencies on the current state of the literacy levels of school children.

Poor reading ability and literacy skills lead to reduced opportunities in life, and worse yet, "being illiterate is a guaranteed ticket to a dead end life with no skills and no future." [7]

" I have taught in Catholic schools for over 20 years in Pre-K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades and used various reading programs & series. I wish I had known about your program 20 years ago!"

Jim,

Thank you, so much, for your email. What super customer service you have! I am delighted with your program. I teach 3 year olds in a Catholic school, and some are on lessons 10 or 12. Others are still on lessons 4 or 5. I have ten children in my class, and some came to me already knowing the sounds of most letters. For those children, I was able to move quickly through the first few lessons, while others need more time to grasp blending. I only have the children for 3 hours each day, and none on the weekends or holidays. As well as they are progressing in that short amount of time, I wish I could spend more time with them. I have the parents reinforcing sounds at home, but I would rather be the one doing it. Now, I won't see my little ones until Jan.6 and I'm praying they retain what they learned thus far.

I have taught in Catholic schools for over 20 years in grades Pre-K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades and used various Reading programs/series. In addition, I have tutored children in every subject K through 9th grades. My own child is 22. I wish I had known about your program 20 years ago! I am excited to see my little 3 year olds at school learning phonemic awareness so easily and in only a few minutes each day! I wonder how far they could have come if I had them in school all day - I fully believe some would be reading sentences by now.

So, thank you for your program - I am amazed. And - thank you for the follow up! I apologize for the long email, but I just can't say enough about Children Learning Reading.

"I am happy to report that he has been able to read several books by himself now. My son feels very confident."

Hi Jim,

I just wanted to give you an update from us. I bought your program back in March of this year. And since then, my son and I have been doing the lessons diligently. I am happy to report that he has been able to read several books by himself now, including Green Eggs and Ham and Fox on Socks. My son feels very confident and is doing great in Kindergarten this year. I feel very lucky to have found your program and to help him become a successful reader.

I am now starting the program with our soon to be 3 year old. I look forward to seeing her great success too.

Thank you again.

A very happy customer and mother,
Maya P.

In a follow-up email about one year later...

Hi Jim,

I just wanted to send you a quick second update. It is one year since we began your program, and I could not be happier and more impressed with my son's reading progress. He is now reading chapter books, around a late 2nd grade level. He tested at 3rd grade level in sight words. And, best of all, he LOVES LOVES LOVES to read.

Thank you again!

Maya P.

"I'm just amazed how fast he's learned to read in a short period of time.  I wish I had discovered your program a long time ago."

Hi Jim,

Thank you for checking in to see how my son is doing with the reading.  Koen just turned 6 this month, and is doing an excellent job with his reading skills!  We started your program about a month before he started kindergarten, and I'm just amazed how fast he's learned to read in a short period of time.  I wish I would have discovered your program a long time ago.

Since school has started we have not done as much as I would like with stage 2 due to homework books and projects from school.  We are still working on stage 2 slowly but surely.  I made these flash cards that seems to help out a lot.  Although, we are almost done because the words are becoming easier for him to read, and he is reading a little bit faster.

Thanks again for your wonderful program, and all the hard work you and your family put in to making it a success. Any chance I get, I try to recommend your program - weather it's at my kid's school, daycare, work, and chatting with friends.

Martha B.

"My daughter finished the program awhile back and her reading is amazing. All I will say is that this program is the best that is out there."

Hi Jim,

My names is Bashir. I would like to thank you first. My daughter finished the program awhile back and her reading is amazing. She had a early entrance test to kindergarten because she was born late, when the kindergarten teachers took the test from daughter they were shocked to find that this tiny yet to be 5 year old could read and could read way better than the other children. This was not what they were used to seeing. Especially not kids whose English is second or third language.

For me English is my third language, but for my daughter, English is her second language. Now my daughter is the highest student in her class. Her teacher told me couple days that she is going to put her in the first grade reading. The best part is that she was not even suppose to be in kindergarten let alone attend first grade reading. All I will say is that this program is the best that is out there. Thank you for sharing this wonderful program with us. My daughter benefited from it for sure and I am about to start with my 2 year old.

"I am a Early Childhood Special Needs Teacher and I have to say I have never seen anything like this. It's amazing!"

Jim

I am a Early Childhood Special Needs Teacher and I have to say I have never seen anything like this. It's amazing! My daughter bought it and taught my granddaughter, M'kaela, to read at 3 years, she is now in kindergarten and will be 6 in January and she is at a 3rd grade reading level.

My daughter is currently teaching her second daughter, that is 3yrs & 6mths, along with 2 other children that are in her home day care one 2yrs & 9mths and the other 2yrs & 3mths. I also have to tell you that her second daughter, has had 5 brain surgeries, 4 for hydrocephalus & 1 a stage 4 cancerous brain tumor. She has had speech therapy, but now is learning to read, her progress is a little slower but she is doing it. Anyway, I got off my subject, Being a Early Childhood Special Needs Teacher, I have decided to try it in my preschool classroom. The classroom is small 7-8 children total, but I never have them all at one time. I can't wait to get started and see how this works, in the classroom setting. I already work on phonemic awareness & phonics this will surely teach me something new that I'm not doing.

The Matthew Effect in Reading: Children Who Fall Behind at Reading Will Likely Have Lifelong Reading Problems, but Early Reading Leads to Greater Success

Won't all these children who read poorly catch up to their peers eventually? Research has shown that this is one of the most dangerous myths perpetuated. If a child's reading difficulties are not address early, chances are that child will never acquire sufficient reading skills. This is known as the Matthew Effect in Reading. Please see chart below:

The Matthew Effect of Reading describes how early success in learning to read leads to greater success later on in reading skills development, with spillover effects into all other academic subjects. On the other hand, a poor reader who fails to develop proficient reading skills by grade 4 will likely have a lifelong problem with reading and learning new skills. The chart above shows the differences in reading abilities between children who enter school with foundational reading skills compared to children without these critical foundation skills. At kindergarten and even grade 1, this gap in reading performance is small; however, this gap becomes exponentially greater by the third grade. By the fourth grade, helping children to overcome reading difficulties becomes time consuming, and frustrating for the child. It is also usually unsuccessful.

"She became so much more confident sounding words out and generally reading... the school hasn't recognised her reading ability and she is still on very basic readers at school but she reads short novels at home... your program was great in that it was a whole package and easy to work through."

We completed your program and it was fantastic. It was very easy to follow, and straight forward. Taya became so much more confident sounding words out and generally reading. Reading is no longer a chore! Unfortunately the school hasn’t recognised her reading ability and she is still on very basic readers at school but she reads short novels at home.

I have passed your website onto a few friends, hopefully they have been in contact…… Lots of people complain that it is hard to teach their child to read, however they are not willing to put in the effort and set aside the time each night to work with them. I found it easy once I established a routine. I have always read to the children each night so we had the foundation already there, your program was great in that it was a whole package and easy to work through. Thank you,

"I'll be proud to have a three year old who's started reading."

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the support. I began teaching our son Rio using your program in at 2 1/2 years. He was excited about learning the letters but blending didn't really happen until a month ago. This was an exciting step, and gave me lots of encouragement. We'd been moving pretty slowly (also had a new baby in September). We're on lesson 17 now. We keep the short sessions matched to his interest and focus level at the moment. Usually we only do part of a lesson at a session.

I'm quite happy with the program and his progress. He will turn three in March, And I'll be proud to have a three year old who's started reading.

Thanks,

Claire

"the final result turned to be an absolutely great success! ...such a smart way to teach children reading, and the phonics you teach through your program is the most thorough and practical way - and it is easy and fun to learn!"

Hi Jim,

I would like to tell you the final result turned to be an absolutely great success! His full day camp teacher said on Monday that Sam reads crazily in the waiting time (about 45 minutes to an hour). Three books on Monday 12/31 (one is "Pete the Cat") and 36 pages of "Curious George Flies a Kite" today Wednesday 1/2. We started your program on 10/3 and tomorrow 1/3 will be the end of the 3 months. We love your program!!

Our younger son Sam just about to turn to 6 when we started your program on October 3rd. He is a kindergartner in a ranking 10 public school at east bay of California and had been in two Montessori schools for two year before attending the public school. Though he is very advanced in math, he was always reluctant to read. He can recite the whole books after his dad read a few times for him, but just resist to read by himself. I felt that was because he did not have the confidence to read. He was a very sensitive child and would not do things that he was not sure. And I did not know how to teach him effectively and make him enjoy reading.

When his school required reading one book each day, I thought it was the child who has to read and was frustrated by the school's demanding so much, but not teaching anything but letters and coloring (the things that should be for 2 years old or younger). I decided to find a way to teach my son to read progressively and make him enjoy reading in the shortest time. I search internet and found your program - one of the best things in my life!!

I was so thrill that someone already knew what we need desperately and developed such a smart way to teach children reading. I also realized that this was what I had been looking for. And the phonics you teach through your program is the most thorough and practical way - and it is easy and fun to learn! I observed the way that my son's public school is teaching (the teacher told me she is going to teach phonics as well), and also the way his private afterschool program teaches (though in a much more advanced and smarter way) , none of them even tried to make the children understand why and how the phonics work as a whole. I doubt whether the teachers ever have the knowledge themselves. They just made children mimic the sound of the words one by one and expect them to learn one by one through years of throwing the mud without knowing why. Thank you for giving us this wonderful gift!

Coming back to Sam's learning, the first week was the easiest. Since he is 6 years old, we were able to complete 2 or 3 lessons a day, each day in 10 minutes. I planned to let him to complete the whole program in one month. However, it took 3 months exactly, just as the program was arranged. I decided to teach him whenever we have the time (2 to 3 times a week during lunch pick up time or weekend, but sometime longer than 10 minutes). We completed successfully the 1st stage within a month, but the second stage took longer.

He just broke though this week, starting enjoy reading all by himself since Monday 12/31. He is so happy that he can read without help, telling me with joy how much he read every day when I came home. I did enjoy watching through your teaching videos, a lot of time with Sam, which were really helpful, especially your emphasis on patience :) The mp3 letter sounds clips are also very helpful, especially English is still a second language to me.

We just want you to know how much we appreciate the talent and hard work you put into this wonderful program. Wish every child has the same opportunity that Sam had.

May God bless you and your beautiful family. May you continually cultivate the gift that God gave you to help many children!!

Best regards,
Renee and her family

"Seeing him struggle with his homework is the reason why I chose to buy the full kit, and oh boy, money well spent."

Hi Jim,

My son who will be six in July is responding to the lessons with amazing results. For his homework words to read at home I am not helping him anymore. Its like he is ready to teach others. I will be just listening and he is now confident and happy to tackle his homework everyday. Seeing him struggle with his homework is the reason why I chose to buy the full kit, and oh boy, money well spent. We are both happy and thank you for sharing your idea with children all over the world.

Forever grateful

Warning:

Using Whole Language Only Learning Methods May Cause Your Child to Struggle With Reading!

The "whole language" method of learning to read is a controversial approach to teaching reading. With the whole language method, students are expected to simply look at a word and say it out. This approach to learning reading is very much a "word shape memorization" plan. In fact, one very popular (and expensive) program that claims to teach even babies to read is a whole language learning method.

With the whole language learning to read method, the child is expected to "learn to read" words by their total configuration. In this "look and say" approach, a young child memorizes the shape of the word, and recognizes the word by its configuration without developing any real understanding of the relationship between the individual components of a word as related to its whole.

The disadvantages of learning to read by the whole language method has been widely proven in scientific research. Large amounts of research in the past few decades have shown that teaching phonemic awareness produces the best reading results in Children. In fact, after an extensive review of over 1,960 clinical studies, the National Reading Panel has gone as far as to say that "teaching phonics and phonemic awareness produces better reading results than whole language programs. Teaching phonemic awareness improves a child's reading, reading comprehension, and spelling abilities." The NRP  findings also indicated that teaching to read programs involving phonemic awareness is far superior at improving a child's reading ability than a learning to read program that does not involve phonemic awareness instructions at all.[3]

Do Not Start Teaching Your Child to Read
With Sight Words!

Sight words are high frequency words that should be known by "sight". With that broad definition, up to 75% of all the words in beginning children's print material are sight words! I have a very different definition where only words that cannot be decoded easily are considered sight words.

In schools and everywhere else, children are encouraged to memorize the configurations of words. In the earlier grades, children bring home from school a handful of "sight words" to memorize each week, and I get a good chuckle as I skim through the sight words my kids must memorize. Using my definition, almost none of these words can be considered sight words, and besides, my children could read all of these words at just 2 years old.

So why is it a bad idea to start teaching using sight words? Great question!

You see, English is an alphabetic language where the words we see comprise of individual letters or a combination of letters which represent different sounds, and these sounds combine together to form the words we hear. When you teach the memorization of sight words, you are in effect teaching English as if it were an ideographic language such as Chinese, where each character represents a meaning, and the only way to learn is to memorize the shapes of the characters.

When a child learns to "read" through memorizing word shapes, that child must rely on visual cues to try to figure out what a word is, and this quickly leads to confusion and frustration. The key stumbling block is that there are so many words with similar shapes that look alike! This method also puts severe limitations on how many words a child can learn to "read", or memorize.

The confusion of word shapes is often a cause of reading difficulties leading to skipped, inserted, and substituted words. And so often, when I work with students with reading difficulties, I have to first break their habit of seeing words as a whole, and show them that there is a simple and effective way to figure out what a word is by its parts.

"She is now 29 months, and really loves books and reading. She constantly wants to do her 'words'... your instructions really helped me as this is my first child and I've never taught anyone to read before."

Hi there,

I want to let you know of Sarah's progress. Sarah is brilliant, and we found that teaching blending was really helpful, and started Sarah off really well.

She had however learned to 'blend' at about 20months, and so I did start really early. Sarah is now 29months, and really loves books and reading, she constantly wants to do her 'words', and can read all 3 letter and most other longer words with a bit of help and encouragement.

In summary, we started very early and therefore fun was the most important element of the teaching. When teaching to blend, your cards and also the instructions really helped me as this is my first child and i've never taught anyone to read before.

Sarah had the tools in order to learn to read for ages before becoming truly enthusiastic about it and the enthusiasm has just happened in the last month. So we are all really excited to see her improvement which seems to be coming in leaps and bounds now she really wants to read.

Anyway, I really appreciated the advice and instruction from your learn to read program and I believe this has helped to get the progress we have.

Kind regards

Clare S. (mother of Sarah 29months)

"Your program is easy to use and makes a whole lot of sense. I am very happy with the results we are getting. I have found it very rewarding being able to help him with this lifelong skill."

Hi,

We are at the final 3 lessons of stage 1 of the manual. I have found having the bonus material a great help. Your program is easy to use and makes a whole lot of sense. Its a great reminder as a parent and lets me prepare for each lesson. I have used the print outs mostly though as they were easy to print off and then use each night with my little boy . I then go back to the computer to check the manual and make sure I'm keeping up with the lessons.

My child is a 4 year old boy and has the concentration span of a gnat, but patience is everything. The changes are there though and he is starting to blend words on his own and can decipher each word fairly easily. The lessons are great as you can make them really short on some days and longer if he's in the mood.

I am very happy with the results we are getting. Slow but steady and leaps and bounds above what he would have got in Daycare. I have found it very rewarding being able to help him with this lifelong skill. Our reading time together, on most nights, is a lovely bonding time between us and lauchie is very proud of himself. If he has tried hard and concentrated each night the fairies bring him a golden star while he sleeps. His stars are on the wall in his room and he knows that he is learning something he will need forever.

Thank you for your programme.

Zoe B.

"We are currently ending lesson 15 and doing really well. So far my son is able to read new words and 5 word sentences with ease."

Dear Jim

Thank you for your email and support.

I have had a wonderful time teaching my son to read with your programme. My son is 2 yr and 5 months old and has shown an interest in reading from early age. Initially I started teaching him to recognise words by their pattern which piqued his interest but he soon lost his appetite for reading as this game became boring to him. After finding your website by chance I was so excited to adopt your teaching method that we got started right away.

I have taken it slowly as sometimes we have external interruptions that have not allowed for a quick transition from one letter and letter sound to another. But the method is working and we love our sessions. We are currently ending lesson 15 and doing really well. So far my son is able to read new words and 5 word sentences with ease (using the letters that we have covered according to your programme). I am thrilled that we made this investment and am completely inspired by the ability that children have provided that they are given a chance. Very often I think it is the norm to underplay what they are capable of from a young age.

"I am always bragging about your program..."

Hi Jim,

My children are doing very well with the reading program. A year ago they were not reading at all and now they are always sounding stuff out. I homeschool and my family is pretty impressed at how well my children are learning. i am always bragging [about] your program because without it I would be very frustrated by now but now I can relax and enjoy teaching my children. thank you very much.

"I never realized how fast she would take to reading. It has been way more than a start, she's reading well."

Hi Jim,

Its amazing that its already been 11 weeks since we started your program. I originally started because my 3 year old was getting bored with the preschool activities and I wanted her to have a good start at reading. I never realized how fast she would take to reading. It has been way more than a start, she's reading well. We are on lesson number 27 - th. Our lessons usually last 3 days but I really hold her that third day or even longer to make sure she's understanding the meaning of words, comprehending the sentences, and can read through the sentences. She does well and we still only do lessons in about 7 to 10 minutes usually 2 or three times a day. I even have a hard time making sure the printouts are ready when she is.

Thanks for checking up on us too. Its nice to know that I am getting resources from a small business and not a large curriculum that has less to offer.

Thanks
Jodi

"He is now reading so so much better and understands blending so well. His confidence has soared! I am thrilled."

Hi Jim,

My 6 year old has really struggled and is bottom in class, but a bright and happy child despite this! He was getting really upset which is when I found your system. I believed that he had some gaps in his knowledge and that the school were ploughing on regardless so I felt we needed to go back to the beginning.

He and I did your system together and it has been a fantastic help so far. We have completed the first stage and he is now reading so so much better and understands blending so well. His confidence has soared! (He struggles with writing and spelling too, and maths) Confidence and feeling you are achieving is key to progressing so I am thrilled.

Thank you,

Jane

"My son is in Grade 1. We are already incorporating the principles in your program into his homework and are seeing results after a week. I really believe your system could work for any alphabetical based language."

Jim

Living in a country with 11 official languages everyone can speak at least 2 languages and bits and peaces of others. My husband is an English teacher and has developed his own system and has written a book to teach English tenses to second language learners.

I believe your system could work on all alphabetical based languages. I also realize the sounds is different but the same principles apply to learning the sounds first. Once the basic sounds of every language is mastered one just continue to teach the rest.

English is my second language. Our home language is Afrikaans as is the teaching language for my children at this stage. I don't want to teach them just to read in English without being able to master their own language. Afrikaans is a fairly new language that started developing in South Africa from Dutch, German, English and French in.the late 1800's. It is also very close to Flemish. Teaching them to read their own language together with English will give them a good foundation to learn any of the above mentioned European Languages should they want to.

As I go through your lessons I am going to work out my own Afrikaans lessons. As I get into routine with Afrikaans I am going to teach them English and Afrikaans since they have to learn English as a main subject from Grade 1. My son is in Grade 1. We are already incorporating the principles in your program into his homework and are seeing results after a week.

I really believe your system could work for any alphabetical based language.

"I think your system is great. I wish I found out about this before I heard about Your Baby Can Read. I wish parents discover this program before they find other reading programs in the market."

Hi Jim,

Thank you very much for following up. I am glad that you do follow up. It just shows that you are not just concerned about selling your product but you also want to make sure that your product is helping parents teach reading to their children.

I think your system is great. I wish I found out about this before I heard about Your Baby Can Read. My friend whose child is one year older than mine thought it was a great program and introduced it to me. My daughter had just turned one year old then and was attentive enough to sit through the lessons. She was captivated by it so I used it to babysit her when I want to be sure she's not going to any trouble while I do housework.

After a few months, she has memorized all the words and the songs so I searched for another program and I found Glen Doman's system with flashcards. I made flashcards and used them everynight until she memorized all the words I gave. I found that both programs are limited to the words I can introduce to my child. Luckily I found your phonics program and got the premium package.

Thank you for taking the time to read my email. I think you made a wonderful job with this reading program and I wish parents discover this program before they find other reading programs in the market.

Have a good day.

Ruby

"I love the simplicity of the program and that you can use it with any reading level from the youngest toddler."

In the short time we did use the program with our son, he began to blend words better instead of just "guessing" or saying each sound individually. I love the simplicity of the program and that you can use it with any reading level from the youngest toddler. This program exceeds my expectations especially for the price. We have easily spent hundreds of dollars on other programs that have failed miserably with our older children. If only this program had existed when they were younger we may have avoided all the extra effort.

"My kid is 3 yr 10 mth old. She can basically read simple stories. I did the Burt Reading Test Assessment with my kid and she scored equivalent to 6yr 2mth reading age. "

Hi,

I was one of your old customers. Now, my kid is 3 yr 10 mth old. She can basically read simple stories. I did the Burt Reading Test Assessment with my kid and she scored equivalent to 6yr 2mth reading age.

Recently, she can also spell 3 or 4 letter words when I mix up the letters for her. She can rearrange them to the correct spelling via phonemic awareness. Many thanks for such a good Reading program.

"Thank you SO much for putting such effort into this program. Knowing that my grandchildren will have a better school year because of these lessons is priceless to me."

I am using these lessons with my 6 and 7 year old grandchildren. I am VERY pleased with the results!!!! Your program has honestly exceeded my expectations. My 7 year old grandson has been reading for the past year, but not well. The first few lessons were very easy for him, which was a great confidence builder. We are now getting into some lessons that are teaching him new phonics skills. I think the absolute best advice for him has been using his finger under each letter to sound it out. Once he has done that, the words come naturally to him.

Thank you SO much for putting such effort into this program. My grandchildren will go into their next grade level with much better reading abilities. We work on at least one lesson every day. We are starting to review the harder ones for several days before we move on to the next. Words cannot express how grateful I am for these lessons. They are simple, straightforward, and easy to understand.

The value of your program cannot be measured in dollar amounts. Knowing that my grandchildren will have a better school year because of these lessons is priceless to me.

Keep up the good work. May God bless you and your family!

Bonus #3: Letter Sound MP3 Audio Clips

children learning reading storiesAs you know by now, developing phonemic awareness is one of the most important aspects that's essential to achieve reading success. Phonemic awareness deals with phonemes which are the smallest units of sound. For example, the letter A makes the /a/ ("ah") sound.

However, as parents who went through this entire process we know how critical it is for you to know and be able to produce the proper sounds for all the letters of the alphabet. This is why we created a full set of mp3 audio clips demonstrating in detail on how to properly sound out each of the alphabet letters, so that you are better equipped to teach your child to sound out words, and read words, sentences, and stories.

Value: $49.95 yours Free

Bonus #4: The Most Common Sight Words

children learning reading storiesOur program is superb at helping children develop phonemic awareness and reading skills; however, the English language is not a simple and straightforward language where everything can be neatly categorized to fit certain rules of reading or decoding. There are many words that simply cannot be decoded or sounded out, and are known to the reader automatically. These are known as sight words.

Sight words are pronounced without decoding the spelling of the word, and we want to help you become aware of some of the most common sight words that you and your child will encounter. The more you know, the better you're able to teach your child to read.

Value: $14.95 yours Free

Bonus #5: Children's Favorite Nursery Rhymes

Hi Jim,

I am extremely greatful that I stumbled upon your reading program. My daughter was having a hard time learning to read, and after your program she can read rather well. She loves to read now. I was afraid she wasnt catching on then one day it just came all together for her. Thank you for creating this program.

Thank you,
David

hi Jim,

I am very pleased with the progress my daughter is making. She is on letter G now. She seem to remember the sound each letter very quickly and she can actually sound out most the words herself with my help.

My daughter has learned how to read and sound out the words herself. She can now read sentences and short stories. This program has denfinitely worked for me and works for my daughter.

Best Regards,

Peggy L.

Hi Jim ,

We are working our way through the lessons and have just finished lesson 19. My daughter is 3 yrs and 9mths. She loves doing her lessons, so much so that they often go on well beyond the 10 minutes you suggested again hope this was ok.

I want to thank you for your reading programme which seems so well organised and logically set out.

Kind regards,

Johanne and Lydia

hi jim.

we have not yet completed the program but we are on lesson 19 in the first book. the program is very easy to understand and follow. im going through it with a 5 year old 3 year old and 20 month old and they are all catching on well. the other day we were driving along and my 5 year old started sounding out and reading something on a bottle that he was holding on to and it was exciting for me :). i home school and was getting ready to quit but then i found your program and it saved my kids from public school.

Hello Jim,

Your program is very easy to follow and understand, and I have not had any problems so far.

I wanted to have my child get a solid foundation in learning how to read. I really like how the program is put together. It not only gets children reading, but it also gets them thinking about how language works and how to apply the information outside of the program.

This program has exceeded my expectations.

Hi Jim

We're doing well, although we haven't been doing it intensively and trying to complete it within the 12 weeks. Freddy is starting to get the hang of blending. He has learnt A,B,C,T,S,U,P and O, and also the sight word THE. He remembers the name and sound of the letters he's learnt well and is able to decode the words.

Having turned 3 recently, his behaviour has amazingly calmed down a lot so we've been doing the lessons every day and he's been really enjoying it.

We think your program is brill. The gradual, drip-feeding nature of it really means that Freddy is retaining what he has learnt and also that what he has learnt is being used again and again. I'll definitely be using the program with my daughter Juniper who is 1 at the moment.

Hats off to you for pioneering this.

Kind regards
Jo W.

Hi Jim,

I wanted to update you on our progress.

Over 3 years, I have been researching, buying, trying, and creating various methods of teaching reading.

I analyzed your program and overall it was the best experience with any program I have bought. Thank you so much!

Tara W.

Dear Jim,

I am a retired junior/secondary trained teacher of Modern Languages and, as such, I am impressed with the quality of the scheme, which is not only the type of reading scheme she will be using at school, but also as a learning tool.

Best wishes,
Julia H.

The Children Learning Reading program was very easy to understand and follow. The lessons were quick and effective. I added these lessons in with other materials I was already using.

I think this program is great with teaching kids phonics once phonemic awareness is mastered. Many of the students I work with have great learning difficulties. This program gave my students access to decoding strategies that will increase their fluency. Overall, I think this program was a great foundation for beginning readers.

The program is great and I would recommend it to anyone. My daughter started the program when she was 5 and is improving her reading each day. It exceeded my expectations. Thank you for creating a product that has not only helped my daughter learn a valuable skill but has helped us come closer together.

All of This Sounds Fantastic,
But How Much is it Going to Cost?

Your investment in this life changing program that will help your child develop the most important skill to succeed is only $49.95!

For everything you see above - the 6 e-books and mp3 audio clips - the Children Learning Reading program will only cost you $49.95! That's it!
